Francis Daniel Gallant

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Francis Daniel

Gallant, after a lengthy battle with Dementia, on January 31 st 2025 in his 83 rd year.

Beloved husband of Barbara for 60 years. Cherished father of Dan (Lisa) and Lori-

Ann (Lloyd). Adored Papa of Kristen, Brad and Bryan.

Predeceased by his parents Henry and Julia Gallant as well as his brothers Benny,

Stanley, Harold and his sisters Helen and Pricillia.

Will be missed by his sisters Yvonne, Margaret (Gord) and Betty (Danny) as well as

many nieces and nephews.

Frank was born in Rusticoville Prince Edward Island on May 20 th 1942, where he

loved to return on vacation when possible.

Frank retired after 37 years at Stelco Hilton Works, where he was known as

“Spud”

Frank enjoyed coaching hockey and baseball. He loved hunting and fishing.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Extendicare

Hamilton for their compassionate care during his final years. Special thanks to Dr.

G Potter and Sharda. PSW’s Matthew, Rebecca and Barb and the rest of the staff

on Dundurn.

Cremation has taken place, a private family celebration of life will be planned at a

future date.
