Elsie-May Scott

May 1, 1939 — November 5, 2023

Elsie May Scott (nee Kyneston) a remarkable woman who tap danced her way through life’s ups and downs, left this world on November 5 2023, in her 85th year.

She was a loving mother to Maury (Barb) and Tamara (Nick) a cherished grandmother and best friend, favourite Aunt, Great Aunt and cousin to many.

Elsie May was known for her sense of humour and ability to have fun. She is a source of inspiration and strength to her daughter and son who love and respect her deeply and will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Elsie May excelled as a Gramma to Maurina, Millar, Zoe and Sophia, filling their lives with laughter, love and lots of fun! She was the most beloved figure in each of their lives and her absence will be deeply felt.

Her closest friends, especially her best friend, who she has known since highschool, will remember her as a vibrant soul who added laughter, adventure and a remarkable sense of humour to their lives. Elsie May’s willingness to travel and explore new places was infectious and she created lasting memories with those fortunate enough to accompany her on these journeys.

Elsie May took pride in being a retiree of Union Gas and spoke highly of her time working in Dunnville. She was also proud of her volunteer work with Mission Services and the friendships she developed there.

She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Durham Association for Family Respite Services https://www.dafrs.com in honor of her nephew Andrew Kyneston (brother to Peter (Vanessa), Uncle to Wyatt and Eliot, son of Tim and Lyn).

Rest in peace, mom, and may your tap dancing spirit continue to inspire us all ♥️
