Bess Alison Williams, a dear mother, Tota (grandma), sister, cousin, stepsister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Hamilton on November 16, 2025, at the age of 68.

Born in Port Colborne, Ontario, on September 20, 1957, Bess was the youngest of three children. The family later lived in Wainfleet, Welland, and Belleville before finally settling in Toronto, where her brother Kent still resides.

Bess was intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humour, marked by her quick and sharp wit. An animal lover, she cared for many pets throughout her life, including dogs, cats, and birds. Bess was an avid reader, an art enthusiast, and a dedicated baseball fan, all of which she enjoyed sharing with her friends and family. She worked in various administrative positions, spending many years with the Ontario Medical Association.

Bess was predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Phil Williams, and her sister, Kate. She is survived by her son, Evan Williams (Georgina), her grandchildren, Eden and Ellora, her brother, Kent Williams (Leslie), her Jellicoe stepsiblings, her Williams, Fraracci, Beck, and Crissey cousins and her many close friends – near and far.

In place of flowers, please consider donating to the Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, a foundation that Bess supported over the years.

The family would like to thank everyone who has helped cope with their loss, particularly Bess's long-time friend Sue Crozier. The family is planning a small private gathering to be scheduled in future.
