ELIZABETH ANDREWS (1958-2025)
It is with profound shock and deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Elizabeth Andrews, 66, of Hamilton, on January 27, 2025.
Liz was born in Glasgow, Scotland on December 16, 1958 to James and Jean Johnston. She later moved with her family to Hamilton, Ontario where she eventually met Keith, the love of her life. They married on August 15, 1981.
She worked in medical administration, beginning in neonatal ICU at McMaster Hospital and later at Stonechurch Family Health Centre. She made many strong relationships throughout her career and stayed close to her friends after her retirement.
Liz embodied the saying, “You can take the girl out of Scotland but you can never take the Scotland out of the girl.” She was a true “Flower of Scotland.”
Liz enjoyed spending time on the boat with Keith, coffee dates and shopping trips with her treasured friends, and doting on her beloved grandkids. She loved attending the Highland Games, cheering on her daughters’ highland dancing and Alison’s piping. She also enjoyed Scottish country dancing. She was generous, supportive, fun, and a fierce friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Jim, and close friends Anne and Sandy.
She is survived by her husband Keith, her sister Sandra and brother Brian (Cobi), daughters Jaklyn (Angelo) and Alison (Cliff), and three grandchildren Leo, Blair, and Jude.
Per her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at Garth Trails Clubhouse, 45 Abbotsford Trail, Hamilton, on Saturday, February 8th, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. There will be a short service at 2:00, followed by refreshments as we continue to share memories together.
If you wish to have a memory, story, or a photo/video shared on your behalf, please send it to the family by clicking on this link .
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Elizabeth’s name to the charity of your choosing.
