Elaine Ellen (Rinehart) Hamilton

April 19, 1943 – October 25, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Hamilton, wife and mother, in her 82nd year. Elaine passed peacefully surrounded by family October 25, 2024, after a brief and sudden stay in palliative care at the Brantford General Hospital. Elaine lived a life rooted in family, friendship & creativity. She was a loving wife to John (she married the boy next door!), her husband of 62 years. She was a devoted mother to her children Craig (Lisa), Carlene (Dale), Shari (Mike) and grandmother to Craig (Chris), Brooklynn (Andrew), Matthew (Emma), Mitchell, and Ainsley. Elaine leaves behind siblings Mel (Marg), Daryl (Bernadette) and their families. Predeceased by her loving parents Milton & Nellie (Brownridge) Rinehart. Mums’ family meant everything to her.

She found joy in bringing everyone together and had an extraordinary gift for creating beautiful tablescapes at gatherings. Often inspired by nature, she incorporated treasures from her hikes into her settings, making each celebration a true work of art. Artistic talents extended into painting, drawing, and knitting etc., which she shared with those closest to her. As her family grew, Grandma could be found with a big smile at her grandchildrens many events. Elaine cherished her lifelong friendships, and close relationships with extended family, both in Ontario and Western Canada. Elaine generously gave her time volunteering with various organizations and causes. Her passion for genealogy left her family a legacy of connection and heritage that will be treasured for generations. She will be deeply missed.

Celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to Ovarian Cancer Canada, a cause dear to Elaine. https://ovariancanada.org/
