Obituary – Edward (Ted) Clayton Lydan
With great sadness, we announce the unexpected tragic passing of Reverend
Edward (Ted) Clayton Lydan on November 29, 2024. He will be sadly missed
by his wife of 30 years, Phyllis, his sons Michael (Anne), Robert (Bernice) and
Paul (Liz). His grandchildren, Meagan (Pierre), Christopher (Steffanie), Colby
and McKenzie are deeply saddened as are his step-daughters Catharine
(Randy) and Debbie (Bruce). His great-grandchildren, Esmée Étienne, and
Élodie will miss their loving great-grandpa. He is survived by his sister Marguerite Rickards (Dave).
Ted was passionate in what he believed in. He always faced his life
challenges with a positive attitude, from raising his three boys on his own, to
making significant career changes which culminated in his attending
university later in life and joining the United Church of Canada as an
ordained minister. Ted was a people person, always wanting to stop to meet
new people and say hello to those he met along his path. He enjoyed his
retirement making new friends in Arizona and his final resting place in
Waterdown. His friendship knew no age limit; just ask the patrons of
Fortinos Café both young and old cherished the friendship that he offered to
them.
A Celebration of Ted's Life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 pm at St. James United Church located at 306 Parkside Drive in Waterdown,Ontario.
