It is time to CELEBRATE the life of Dr. Kevin Charles James Joseph Dwyer. We are devastated to announce his merciful passing on Saturday May 2, 2026. Dearest husband to the most loving and dedicated wife, Barbara Dwyer for 55 yrs. Father of Mark and Mary Jo (Travis) Cairns, “Grandpa Lovey” to Katie, Charlie and Aly, and “Uncle Lovey” to his entire extended family and beyond.

A true legacy served full circle, he was born, worked for over 30 years, and passed at St Joseph’s hospital in Hamilton in his 80th year. He was devoted to his various roles of Family doctor (delivering over 100 babies), ER Physician (including Air Ambulance), Chief of staff (1981-1990) and proudly retired from Brantford Urgent Care Clinic in 2013. Adored and respected by his colleagues and patients over his entire career, he was notorious for the phrase, “I love saving lives, and stamping out disease and pestilence.”

Kevin was a parishioner at St. Anne’s for more than 50 years, a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a 50 year member of his beloved Chess Club family. In retirement, he enjoyed visiting with family, travelling, and volunteering at the Warplane Heritage Museum, SPCA, and Neighbour to Neighbour.

Thank you to the entire staff at St Joseph and the Hamilton General hospitals for the God sent care Kevin received. Cremation has taken place. Details about the celebration of Kevin’s life will be updated and shared as soon as possible.
