Dorothy Ellen Tyrrell (Dodes)
June 4, 1958 – December 27, 2025
It is with deep sadness and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ellen Tyrrell, in her 68th year. Dorothy passed peacefully and is now reunited with her beloved parents, Ed and Edna Tyrrell, whom she missed dearly.
Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Deborah Tyrrell; Doug and Lisa Tyrrell; and Dawn and Dan Scarrow. Family was at the centre of Dorothy’s life, and her love for them was constant, steady, and unwavering.
Her greatest pride and joy was being “Dodes” to Rebecca and Jeremy, Kate, Sarah and Eric, and Amy and Jason. Dorothy was a devoted aunt whose love showed through quiet support, fierce loyalty, and endless devotion. She took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments and found her greatest happiness in simply being their aunt.
Dorothy’s most precious gifts were Avery, “the girl who warmed her heart”; Lincoln, “the little boy who made her heart smile”; and Elodie, “her little ray of sunshine,” all of whom held a special place in her heart and multiplied her joy.
Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle spirit, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her presence was comforting, her heart generous, and her love enduring. Though she will be profoundly missed, her legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the love she gave so freely.
Forever loved.
Forever remembered.
A graveside service will take place on May 9th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at
St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Oakville
(3114 Dundas St. West).
Upon Dorothy’s request, donations may be made to The War Amps.
The family would also appreciate donations to Carpenter Hospice.
