Dorothy Elizabeth Macdonald

April 17, 1927 — July 2, 2021

Dorothy Elizabeth (nee Cheverie) MacDonald April 17 1927-July 02, 2021. 94 years, she celebrated in April, still dancing the two-step, a little east coast jig, playing the piano, and the fiddle, if she could get her hands on one. Born and raised in Elmira, PEI, she married the farm boy from the next village over, before moving to Hamilton, Ontario and settling in Burlington, Ontario. There she raised seven children, in addition to the many neighbouring country kids, and visiting nieces and nephews; the home always had an open door, with a hot cup of tea and fresh biscuits waiting. July 02, 2021, after a jig or two, Dorothy, also known as Dottie, Mom, Grammer, and GG, two stepped her way to the heavens above on her own terms. She joins her husband, Ronnie, her life partner, John, her sons Lealand and Glenn, and daughter, Shirley, where the cèilidh has already started. She now watches over her children, Larry (Seng), Sharon (Kevin), Sheila (Barry), and Garry (Linda). Her grandchildren, Lisa, Sahra (Scott), Shane (Lindy), Kyle (Meghan), and her great-granddaughter, Laughlin Riley Ann. She will be missed dearly by her sister Margaret, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends from the east coast, to the west coast. We will meet again for a hot cup of Tetley tea, and now, a butter tart or two; maybe even a homemade with love, biscuit. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be had when restrictions are lifted. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph's Villa Foundation, please visit https://sjvfoundation.ca for more information.
