Derek Hodson

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Derek Hodson on August 28, 2024, at Ridgeview LTC in his 79th year. Derek is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 50 years. Loving father of Sarah Hallett (Neil) and Louise Hodson. Cherished Papa of Catherine and Rachel. Son of the late Eugenia 'Baba'. Predeceased by his brother, Colin (Shirley). Will by dearly missed by sister-in-law, Joan Dyson and Mervin. Cousins to Edith Gray (David) and Diane Melitzer (Mike).

Derek was a long-time dedicated employee of Loomis Courier (DHL). Once diagnosed with Alzheimer's, his mode of transportation was biking. He will be remembered for his long trips, leaving you in the dust but always home for dinner! His daily trips would always include Tim Horton's. Derek was a dedicated fan of Hamilton Duchess Ringette either as a President, time keeper or driver. Member of the Salvation Army, as part of that community Derek was always lending a hand.

In Derek's memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at Winterberry Heights Salvation Army Church, 300 Winterberry Dr. Stoney Creek, on Sept 6, 2024, at 11 a.m.
