Deborah Dawn Naylor (née Earle, Groves) of Hamilton, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 15th, at Juravinski Hospital, at the age of 69, following complications from vascular dementia.
Deborah was born in Hamilton to May Groves (née Patrick, Earle) and the late Howard Earle, and was adopted at the age of 10 by the late Ronald Groves. She is survived by her son Matthew (Stacey); mother May Groves; sisters Sandra McDonald (née Earle, Groves) and Linda Hicken (née Earle); brother Robert Earle; nieces Jessica (Chris), Nicole (Malcolm), Lisa, and Michelle; nephews Jason, Steve (Sarah), and Michael (Mindy); and her beloved cat, Tia.
As an adult, Deb lived in Belleville and Niagara Falls before returning to Hamilton in 2000. A Certified General Accountant, she worked in both private practice and with the Canada Revenue Agency. She also gave her time generously to Mount Hamilton Baptist Church and the Neighbour to Neighbour food bank.
Deb’s true passion was serving her community and helping others. In recent years, she volunteered as a peer coordinator with the Dementia Support Network coffee club alongside her dear friend Andrea. In keeping with her giving spirit, Deb was an organ donor, and through her passing, she gave the gift of life to two people.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, or to the Benevolent Fund of Mount Hamilton Baptist Church.
