It is with sadness that we announce the passing of David R. Barclay on July 14, 2026, at the
Juravinski Hospital at the age of 82.

Survived by his sons Graham and Brian (Stephani); grandchildren Scott (Courtnee), Ashleigh
(Nathan), Amy (Ram) and Jessica (Jesse); brother Don (Heather) and sisters-in-law Janice and
Cathy and brother-in-law Ross. Will be very much missed by his partner Betty. They met in
2013, both having lost their spouses and subsequently had 13 happy years together in
Ancaster. Dave was predeceased by his parents (Jack and Irene), his wife Lynn (2006) and his
brother Bob (2018).

Dave was a Queen’s grad (1966) and proud of it, never hesitating to show off his engineer’s ring
on his pinky finger. He also had an MBA from York University. From 1966 to 1987 he was Union
Carbide’s Vice President and General Manager of Eveready Battery Products. In 1990 he
joined Delhi Industries where he was President for 15 years.

As a young man he loved skiing, golf, slow-pitch baseball and curling. Those were the days!
