Grimsby, ON - It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Daniel James Buxton on January 11, 2026, in the town of Grimsby, at the age of 78.

Lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Gail (nee Metcalfe); his children, Julie and Kyle (Marlena); and his grandchildren, Leigha and Aubrey, who brought him much pride and joy. Loving brother to Sharon (David) and Dave (Anne); and brother-in-law to Gwen and Karen; and his niece and many nephews. Predeceased by his parents, James and Irene; sister, Noreen; brother-in-laws, Edward, Tom, and Ross.

Dan was a generous and kind-hearted man whose family meant the world to him. In his younger years, he found his passion in drag racing at the Cayuga Speedway, where he made many lasting memories. That love of racing continued through his annual trips to the NHRA US Nationals at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, experiences he always cherished. Beyond racing, he enjoyed bowling, billiards, fishing, golf, painting and working on cars.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery in the Coach house, 5600 King Street West, Lincoln, ON.
