Peacefully in his sleep, Chris passed away August 3 rd in his 97 th year. He leaves behind his soulmate of 70
years, Deena, and his daughter Carol Gauthier (Peter). He was predeceased by his sons, Jim, and Bo.
Chris was a very proud grandpa to Sandy (Mark), Andrew, Nick (Leah), Jaclyn (Dustin) and Michelle
(Alex). He was great grandpa to Leon, Louis and Hadley.
Chris was a kind, gentle man, loved by all who knew him. A true inspiration. He loved to make others
laugh, especially with his “Dad” jokes. He was a Veteran, coached his sons’ teams in baseball at
Montgomery Park and hockey at Parkdale Arena. He always enjoyed and supported his families’
activities. Family was very important to him. He discovered the joy of curling at The Victoria Club after
he retired and curled as his health allowed. He will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Special thanks to the staff at St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke, during his short stay there. We are very
grateful to the staff in Garland Terrace who provided excellent care and peace of mind to the family.
His new friends there made his stay extremely enjoyable.
A private internment will take place at a later date.
