MORAN, Christopher
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Christopher James Moran born on July 22nd, 1953 in Pouch Cove Newfoundland. He passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday June 1st, 2023 after a short battle with brain cancer at Emmanual House Hospice care in Hamilton, Ontario.Chris spent 32 years of his life as a crane operator at Stelco Hilton Works where many knew him as “Boomer.” He retired happily in 2006 and enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to read, loved taking long walks and would talk to anyone and everyone on his travels. He was very sociable, loved the Montreal Canadiens and was a proud hockey papa watching his grandkids play around the rinks. Most of all he loved to make people laugh!
He is predeceased by his parents James and Theresa Moran or Pouch Cove Newfoundland. As well as his sisters Suzanne, Bernadette, Deborah and his brothers Paul and Basil. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Elizabeth Moran (Janes), his Children Belinda (Mike) Atkinson and Christopher (Vicki) Moran. As well as his brothers and sisters Leonard (Mary), Christine (Pat), Theresa (Herb), Shelia (Doug) and Jay. He will be dearly missed by his 5 grandchildren Brandon, Autumn, Maddison, Eric and Julia. As well as numerous sister/brother in laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Thank you for being such a great husband, father/law, papa, brother/law, uncle and friend. You will forever be in our hearts and will truly be missed by all. Thank you to all all the wonderful staff who cared for Chris in his last days and moments at Emmanual House.
