Christine "Chrissy" Burley

It is with deepest heartbreak we announce the passing of Christine Burley, lovingly known as Chrissy, on July 26th, 2025, at the too young age of 62. Chrissy, despite a long battle with health struggles embraced everyday with immeasurable strength, courage, laughter, and jokes. She was surrounded by so much love and support the night prior and at the time of her passing. 

Chrissy went by many other important names in her life such as “Babe”, “Mom” and “Mema” and leaves behind a beautiful family and legacy. Her loving husband, Dave of 30 years, her children Amber (Sean) and Cameron (Natalie) and step-children Chris and Ryan, her 9 grandchildren; Cheyleigh, Sophia, William, Cameron Jr., Cooper, William, Hunter, Madeline, and Owen, and countless other family members including nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many pets including her dogs, Hope and Honey, and birds Penny and Peanut. 

Chrissy was an indescribably unique character constantly causing “trouble” and making people laugh in the process. Her endless affection for animals was always apparent as she had countless dogs, cats, and birds throughout her life whom she spoiled endlessly. She had a massive sweet tooth enjoying countless Peach Frozen Quenchers from Tim Hortons eating the whipped cream on top first. Peach rings, cannoli’s, 3 Musketeer’s bars, Twinkies, and many other candies and sweets were among her favorites.

Above all else though Chrissy loved her family. She was known to avoid spending money on herself, even for things required, so she could buy the grandkids things to make them happy. One of her last Amazon orders was a pack of Pokemon cards for Little Cam “just because”. She would always call her grandchildren after sports competitions or school events even in the hospital to check in with them. She would always put others before herself, even avoiding facetiming family when on vacation so they wouldn’t worry she was in the hospital and “ruin their trip”.

Throughout her work at Bulk Barn and Rexall, Chrissy was known by collegues and customers alike as a friendly and warm presence who was proud of her family.

Chrissy would be so upset to see people sad about her not being here and while our hearts have a large piece missing, we are so proud to have countless memories of her with each of us.

A big thank you to anyone who has helped support Chrissy’s family over these past months, your kindness is not unnoticed.

A Celebration of Chrissy’s wonderful life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025 at Pelham Fire Station 3 (2355 Cream Street, Ridgeville) from 3pm to 6pm with a memorial service starting at 4:30pm. Please wear orange clothing if you can, it was Chrissy’s favourite colour. It is a potluck style so please bring a dish if you are able. If wanted, donations to your local SPCA in Chrissy’s name would be appreciated by her and her family.
