Caterina (Cathy) Kohler

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family announces the passing of Cathy on May 5th, 2023 at the

age of 56. Beloved husband of Peter for 31 years and adored mother of Jessica and son-in-law Colin.

Cathy and Jessica had the most beautiful, unbreakable bond that will last many lifetimes.

Beloved daughter of Maria and the late Giuseppe, and daughter-in-law of Judy and the late Peter.

Dearest sister of Sammy (Eve), the late John, Teresa (Alessandro), Joe-Joe (Heather), M’Angelina (Rob),

Tony (Valentina), and Marz (Jennifer). Cherished Aunt of Veronica (Manolo), Bianca (Fab), Alexsandria

(Kyle), Johnny, Joey (Ashley), Ricky, Sofia, Sarah, Julia, Luc, Antonio, Isabella, Oliver, Rocco, the late Tessa,

and Talia. Amazing Great Zia to Ella, Gianna, and Xochitl. Pina to Bianca, Douggie, and Julia. Loving cousin

and friend to many.

She worked for the City of Hamilton for 30+ years, starting out as a basket checker and retired as a

Recreation Supervisor for seniors. She loved working with her colleagues and the seniors at Sackville,

and in her short retirement she joined their table tennis club.

A special thank you to the staff at Juravinski Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers

(because we all know she hated those), donations for the Gutsy Walk 2023 to our team “In Memory of

Cathy Kohler” are welcome. If you would like to join us for the walk, it takes place on Sunday, June 4th

2023, at Confederation Park.

She fought until the end and will be sadly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Enjoy

your heavenly candy and card playing with your Dads! Your Sweets will carry on your strong legacy, and

always feel your arms around her forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
