Carolyn Anne (Taylor) McIlwain, R.N. January 25, 1946 – January 9, 2021 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Carolyn, on January 9, 2021, in her 74th year. After a courageous battle with cancer, Carolyn took her last breath and our lives are changed forever. Carolyn was predeceased by her loving husband Donald M. McIlwain in 2014. Predeceased by parents Harold and Hilda Taylor and survived by dear sister Janet (Mark) Reddicliffe. Carolyn was a proud Aunt to Jordan (Kathy) Reddicliffe and Jarret (Christine) Reddicliffe. She was full of pride to be a Great-Aunt to Mia, Quinn, Emma and Lily. Fondly remembered by her friends and co-workers. Carolyn was an honoured nursing graduate of HGH School of Nursing and spent her career dedicated to the Hamilton Health Sciences at the General Hospital from 1968 to 2013. We want to give a special thank you to her frontline team of social workers, doctors and nurses at St. Peter’s Hospital and Juravinski Hospital. Due to COVID restrictions, a private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any local cat rescue or our family asks that you pay it forward and perform an act of kindness in Carolyn’s honour.
