In loving memory of Carole Pauline Cadieux (née Gervais)
September 9, 1958- November 3, 2023
It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Carole.
Carole was a beloved mother, memere, daughter, sister and friend. She passed away very quickly following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by love, at Juravinski Hospital.
Music accompanies so many of the memories I have. There was always music playing whenever you were around her. From Burton Cummings to Meat Loaf to Bon Jovi (to karaoke!) She loved a good tune and whenever she had a chance, she’d invite you to go see a live band.
Carole loved spending time in the kitchen and graciously served treats and elaborate multiple course meals to all she welcomed into her home. If you were lucky enough to stop by in recent years you probably would have left with a piece of “Herman,” her sourdough starter, in the form of sourdough bread, cookies, pancakes, crackers or ready-to-use pizza dough.
She also spent a great deal of time at the beach getting her vitamin D and thousands (and thousands!) of steps every chance she got. There (and everywhere) she easily made new friends. She also created many wonderful beach memories with her littlest loves, her granddaughters.
Carole had a very difficult journey over the last 5 months, but somehow always maintained positivity and hope around her loved ones. She left this world with big plans and will be missed more that she could have ever known.
Carole is survived by her daughter Joelle (partner Ryan), granddaughters Quinn and Reese, her mother Denise, brothers Ron, Gilles and Norm, sisters Eveline, Gisele, Monique and Marielle, extended family and best friends who were also truly family. She was predeceased by her father Fern (2012) and her daughter Jacqueline (2020).
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place in the nicer spring weather in both Hamilton and where she grew up in Manitoba, where she will find her final resting place with our sweet Jacqueline. Details will follow for those interested and invited. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honour to the Cancer Assistance Program in Hamilton or a like-minded organization.
I love you Mom.
