Bonnie Lee Stanfield

On Monday, September 26th, Bonnie Lee Stanfield, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and friend, passed away at the age of 73.

Born to Richard and Agnes Franklin in Woodstock, Ontario on July 8th 1949. From 1958 onward, she would call Thomas Baird Father after he became Agnes’ life partner and later husband. She moved to Downsview and attended C.W. Jeffries High School 1963-1967.

After marrying Kenneth Stanfield, she became a mother to children Christopher Frederick and Holly Elizabeth.

Her first job was in 1967 at the head office of Walker Stores in Weston, then Indal Canada in 1970. She then took time away from employment to be a dedicated mother.

In 1989 she first worked for "Face To Face" and later worked for Odyssey International Airlines. Bonnie then worked at Data General where she met Peter Wilson, who would go on to be her life partner of 25 years.

Later in life, she became a strong advocate for educating women on breast cancer through her own family history, helping women deal positively with mastectomies.

Bonnie became involved in the Parkinson’s disease community after Peter’s diagnoses.

She loved her family, music and all aspects of life. Possessing a wonderful sense of humour, she could laugh at the drop of a hat. A cherished member of her neighbourhood, and a spreader of positivity. She will be eternally missed by many.

Bonnie is survived by Husband Peter Wilson; Son Christopher, Daughter-in-law Karen (Misoni-Stanfield), and Grandsons Nathan and Erik Stanfield; Son-in-law Michael Smart and Grandchildren Jack, Andrew and Shannon Smart; Stepson Kevin Wilson, Daughter-in-law Anne and Grandson Joshua Wilson; Stepson Darren Wilson, Daughter-in-law Claudette (de la Cruz-Wilson) and Granddaughter Ava (de la Cruz-Wilson); Brother-in-law Reid Wilson and Wife Margaret; and Mother, Agnes Baird.

An informal Celebration of Life gathering will be held in her honour at the following address on October 22nd at 1:00pm. A light lunch will be provided.
