Benjamin Donald Gordon Carr 58, from Hamilton. Lost his battle with Cancer at Emmanuel House on January 18th, 2024, with his wife Andrée by his side.
Ben met his loving wife Andrée in 1986, soul mates and best friends. Proud parents of two wonderful sons, Jesse and Eric. Devoted to his family, he led by example. Kind, patient, strong, available, provider, role model, and forever our Hero.
Ben was born February 10,1965, at home to Inge Carr/Miller and Donald Carr in Burlington. Brother to Ronald, Timothy, Theresa, and Mike. Loved by his step parents, Marion Carr, John Miller, and all his in-laws. Ben was a wonderful son/son in law, dependable brother, loving uncle, amazing husband, the best father, and a friend you could always count on.
Ben was a retired steel worker from Dofasco ArcellorMittal. He enjoyed being outside, hiking, camping, kayaking, or just kicking Tim's butt in a round of golf. Auto racing and sports was his go-to on TV. Always handy and capable of fixing whatever was in need of repair. Loved going for a drive and listening to music. Your zest for life was contagious, just like your laughter and your smile. Always willing to lend a hand, you were there for everyone.
We would like to thank all the staff of Emmanuel House, we're forever grateful. The care, compassion, and dignity you gave to Ben and us will never be forgotten. To all who shared kind words and great memories, you filled our hearts with love. Special thanks to everyone who was there anytime we needed... you know who you are, and we are thankful. Knowing that Ben was loved by so many is a heartfelt blessing. Thanks for always being you and standing up for what you believe in. We're so grateful for all the wonderful memories, and I'm sure we have the majority of them on videos or in photos! Ben, you're loved more than words can ever say. I thank you for 37 years of love and the best times ever! Till we meet again, my love.
In memory of Ben, he asked that you have a home-cooked meal surrounded by those you love.
