With great sorrow we announce the passing of Andrew George Spacek (58) of Hamilton ON after a short illness. He was cared for at home and always surrounded by his beloved family.
Originally from Kapuskasing, where he attended Kapuskasing District High School, Andrew continued his studies in Toronto at Humber College. He was subsequently employed by Toronto Paramedic Services as a Paramedic and later as Superintendent of Scheduling. Several years later, after the arrival of their children Micheal and Lauren, Connie and Andrew moved the family to Hamilton where they currently reside.
Andrew will be sorely missed for his incredible sense of humor and his razor wit. There was rarely a topic that he didn't know something about. He was well-versed in technology and mechanical innovation but he also loved to garden, read and cook. His family though, were his priority; hiking, biking and exploring were only some of the activities that he enjoyed with them. He was a proud and protective father and husband who loved them fiercely. To his friends, neighbors and extended family, Andrew was someone who responded to any request for assistance and immensely enjoyed any opportunity to socialize.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife Connie, his children Micheal and Lauren, as well as his furry friends Felix and Sadie; his siblings Patricia (George) Hiemstra, Karla (Gordon) Munnoch, Miroslav (Marthe) Spacek, John (Pauline) Spacek, Mary Spacek and Alan (Debbie) Spacek. He will also be missed by a very large number of cousins, nephew, nieces and their children.
He was predeceased by his parents Miroslav and Janetta Spacek, his brother Peter Spacek and his nephews Matthew Brunning and Stephen Spacek.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Hamilton in the spring.
