With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Alice Margaret Henderson (nee Ryce), on Monday, January 22nd, 2024 in her 83rd year. Born in Hamilton, on January 7th, 1942, Alice passed peacefully at Juravinski Hospital surrounded by her family.

Alice is survived by her husband of 60 years, David. Loving mother to Mark (Janine) Henderson and Michele (Dave) Hamilton, and cherished grandmother to Alethea and Rene. Alice is predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Michael Ryce, and leaves behind her siblings Dorothy Ann (Kevin) Loosemore, Michael (Jeanie) Ryce, and Terry Ryce.

Alice will be remembered as an avid reader and gardener, always looking forward to spring's first bloom. She was intelligent, successful, and generous. She lived life unapologetically and never hesitated to help someone in need. Alice loved fashion and jewelry, something that brought her exceeding joy throughout her life. She was beautiful, and no matter the outfit, the necklace, or the ring, it was always her beauty that stood out the most.

Alice was fiercely independent and her family is thankful that she was able to pass on her own terms. The family is grateful for the efforts and kindness given to Alice by the MAID team, and all of the Hamilton Health Sciences staff who cared for her.

Alice will be dearly missed, but her memory will live with each spring bloom.

Cremation will take place and a private celebration of life will happen at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG), a place central to bringing Alice happiness and peace, especially during her final years.
