Koehn, Alfred Erich

Alfred passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, in Hamilton, ON at the age of 85. Al is lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years Heide (Stehle); and his children Kirsten and Stephanie; his son-in-law, Michael, and his grandchildren, Claire and Luke. Predeceased by his first wife, Shirley (Wilson).

Al was an avid runner, having completed over 100 marathons and ultramarathons. He especially loved trail running in conservation areas near his home in Ancaster and was a member of local running clubs in his community. For the past 20 years, one of his favorite pastimes was hiking in the Dundas Valley Conservation Area.

Al also enjoyed woodworking and gardening. Crafting many fine pieces in his home workshop. He spent countless hours in the garden, landscaping their beautiful yard and tending to flowers and bushes.

A passionate traveler, Al visited many countries around the world across six continents. His love of travel was inspired by the wonderful opportunity to live and work in the South Pacific, including Indonesia and New Caledonia

Donations in Alfred’s memory may be made to the Dundas Valley Conservation Area, Juravinski Hospital, or Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice.
