IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adella Marie
Setter
February 21, 1932 – December 13, 2025
Adella Marie Setter
We lost one of the kindest people the world has ever known on Saturday December 13, 2025.
Marie Setter passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia and in the end, cancer. She would have turned 94 in February.
For everyone who had the privilege to know her, Marie loved to entertain and with my Dad (Merrill) hosted family gatherings and Christmas parties that grew into momentous occasions. I’m sure many people have fond memories. Mom supported many of my friends and family members over the years with a place to go and ear to listen.
She nannied for a number of families over the years but played a special role with the Doig family that developed into a lifelong relationship and are considered a part of the Setter family.
Marie taught us all how to be hardworking, devoted and supportive people. She always welcomed everyone and would say “the more the merrier”.
She was also one of the funniest people you could meet and kept her sense of humour to the end.
My daughter Simone summed it up perfectly…
“I like to imagine Nana is on a beach this morning in a purple bathing suit, with her long metallic fingernails and a perfectly quaffed perm. Papa is beside her rolling his eyes and laughing because she just made an inappropriate joke to the young male bartender. Her memories are restored and she is finally with her husband, loving her world all over again. She is smiling down on all of us with an extra big smile for Dante - babysitting in her own way “ 💜🪽
Marie is survived by, son's Vincent and Warren (Christine)
Grandchildren; Jordan (Erin), Simone (Rob), Justin.
Great grandson; Dante
Many Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.
Our entire family owes my beautiful wife Christine a lifetime of gratitude for her unconditional support and love she showed mom over many years!
We want to thank BurlOak Long Term Care for all their love and support they showed mom over the last two years.
Mom / Nana you will always be in our hearts and never forgotten. Rest in peace 💕
