Eleanor Patsy Seale

In Loving Memory of Eleanor Patricia (Patsy) Seale (formerly Ramnarine)

Eleanor Patricia Seale, known to many as Patsy, was born in 1943 in Guyana and peacefully passed away on July 31, 2024, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

Eleanor spent her early years in Bloomfield Village, Guyana, with her loving parents, James and Ammah Ramnarine, and her siblings: Nelson, Winston, Neville, Desmond, Rohan, and Angela. As she grew older, Eleanor felt a strong calling to become a nurse. Driven by an independent spirit, she made her way to London, England, where she studied nursing. It was there that she met her future husband, Jerry Seale. Together, they had two sons, Tom and Clifton.

Later in life, Eleanor and her family immigrated to Canada, where they reunited with her parents and siblings. She found work at a nursing home, initially as a temporary position, but it turned into a lifelong career. Eleanor had a deep passion for caring for others, especially those in need, and she dedicated her life to helping people in their time of greatest vulnerability.

Eleanor retired in 2009, which allowed her the opportunity to travel. She visited her homeland of Guyana, as well as Florida, Cuba, and Barbados, where she and Jerry had built a retirement home. Eleanor cherished her time in Barbados, she enjoyed the beaches, the food, her Barbados family and friends, and the simpler life that the island offered. She frequently traveled back and forth between Canada and Barbados for several years, making memories with loved ones. Her interests included visiting family, friends, watching soap operas, following tennis, baking, knitting, playing solitaire, a good word search and watching action movies.

In late 2016, Eleanor was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, shortly after the passing of her beloved husband, Jerry, in 2015. She moved in with her son, Tom, in 2017, where he and his wife, Janet, lovingly cared for her until she required full-time care in 2024.

Eleanor was a daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, niece, grandmother, and eventually a great-grandmother. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the love she shared with everyone close to her.

She is deeply missed by her son Tom, daughter-in-law Janet, her remaining brothers Nelson, Neville, and Rohan, her sister Angela, and her many friends. Eleanor's legacy also lives on in her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren—especially Justin Seale—and great-grandchildren.

Eleanor is now reunited with her parents, brothers, and other family members and friends who predeceased her.
